Back by popular demand!  This workshop was presented in May but sold out quickly because of limited space.  Space in this workshop is limited again - sign up soon!

 

Presented by Bridge 13, this workshop shares knowledge and skills to build LGBTQ equity, and is designed to address root causes of discrimination impacting the LGBTQ community and help create system-wide change to improve short- and long-term outcomes for a particularly marginalized population.  The content of this workshop has been improved upon and will also focus on dealing with patrons and staff in a park and recreation environment.

 

Agenda

Alyssa Linares - Bridge 13 Community Education Trainer, will lead the workshop through both small and large group discussions on topics related to sexual orientation, sex, gender identify, and gender expression.  This training also provides information and resources on how to address microaggressions and interrupt oppressive language and behavior.

Bridge 13 & New Avenues for Youth

Bridge 13 is a community education program that shares knowledge and skills to build LGBTQ equity, and is designed to address root causes of discrimination impacting the LGBTQ community and help create system-wide change to improve short- and long-term outcomes for a particularly marginalized population.

The Bridge 13 program is a part of the Sexual & Gender Minority Youth Center (SGMYC) a resource provided by New Avenues for Youth.  New Avenues for Youth is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention and intervention of youth homelessness.  You can read more about New Avenues for Youth and the SGMYC online.

 

REGISTRATION FEES

Member Fee: $40

Non-Member Fee: $50

 

CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS

All ORPA workshops are eligible for CEUs to be applied to CPRP.  Learn more about self-reporting.

This workshop also provides CEUs for the following certifications: none.
