This one-day workshop in Springfield, Oregon will explore the unique story of Thurston Hills Natural Area from the initial vision to the current and future development.

Participants will learn about the ways in which partnerships were used to support acquisition, trail design, and construction and implement restoration and hazardous fuel reduction projects on the site.  Participants will also learn more about the land use process, trailhead design, and construction and approach used for way-finding and signage at the site.

This workshop is perfect for designers, park planners, and natural resource staff.

  • Driving around the the south side to discuss future planning and site development

Registration includes continental breakfast and lunch.

Optional Mountain Bike Ride at site trailhead following workshop.  Attendees are welcome to bring bikes for riding in the afternoon.
