The Spring Symposium is the must attend event for staff who work in Adult Community Centers and Senior Recreation Centers.  This event will be a day filled with mini-presentations and topics from colleagues who are experts in their fields.  Presentations will include topics that pertain to people who work in adult/senior and community centers.  There will be opportunity to network with other professionals and come away with solutions and ideas unique to our work environment.

What You Will Learn

In these mini-sessions you will learn:

  • New ideas for your trip/excursion program; what works and planning inclusive trips for all
  • Cost recovery and how to apply it to a senior program
  • What is the difference between service and therapy animals?  How the law applies at your center
  • Incorporating businesses that provide services for seniors into your center
  • Theme events/activities that will create happiness at your center

Who Should Attend

While the focus will be on senior centers and adult community centers, we welcome all recreation professionals, recreation supervisors and programmers in parks and recreation.
