Just Ask Jan: Fit Criminal

Posted By Amanda Parsons, Wednesday, September 2, 2020

Dear Jan,

My county isn’t open yet for the public to return to our facilities.  However, given guidelines, staff can rotate into the office for work with physical distancing enforced.  My office is attached to our fitness center, and during my lunch break I’ve been enjoying using the facility, free of people.

A co-worker pointed out that I shouldn’t use the facility because technically it isn’t “open”.  However, I just see it as a part of my work environment and as long as I’m cleaning afterward, I’m not breaking any rules.  Who’s right?

Sincerely,

Fit Criminal

Hello Fit Criminal,

Your co-worker is right, the gym is not open and you shouldn’t be using it. You are breaking the rules, and you need to cut it out.

You asked and so says Jan
