Academy for Youth Sports Administrators

Nobody cares more about your career than you, right?

So, if you’re looking to stay ahead of the curve – and be a difference maker for youth sports programming in your community – you need to be at the special Academy for Youth Sports Administrators taking place Wednesday November 15th during the ORPA Conference in Bend, OR.

This professional development training, held in partnership with ORPA and NAYS, runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., is your opportunity to earn the Certified Youth Sports Administrator (CYSA) credential. The special ORPA registration rate is only $275.

Here’s why you should attend:

  1.  Professional conferences promote professionalism – and you’ll be able to network with your peers.
  2.  Validate your dedication and career choice. Youth sports administration is an important piece of community recreation programs!
  3.  Represent yourself and your community. You and your organization will be recognized for participating; plus, it’s something impressive to add to your resume.
  4.  Walk it like you talk it! You will have the ability to earn/maintain your CYSA and you will learn new ideas, practical solutions and maybe even make some new friends.
  5.  You should invest in yourself! This experience will provide both tangible and intangible outcomes for every attendee.

The Academy’s primary goal is to provide attendees with a foundation, tools and resources needed to positively impact the youth sports experience for all children in their communities. Some of the topics covered at the Academy are youth sports philosophy, professional development, volunteer management, child abuse and bullying prevention, parent management, conflict resolution, insurance and risk management, program evaluation and marketing.

Following the Academy, professionals will be provided access to the Online Academy to complete the certification process. Along with having the opportunity to experience both the onsite and online benefits of the program, upon completing the training they will join more than 4,000 recreation professionals from across the country, and on U.S. military bases worldwide, who have earned the CYSA credential.

The professional youth sports administrator is charged with ensuring that every child has a quality youth sports experience. It is essential that every community have at least one CYSA who understands the core and foundations of positive youth sports so that regardless of locale, youth sports are guided by a similar, positive philosophy.
