SENIOR CENTER ACCREDITATION
Get your center the recognition it deserves! To receive National Accreditation a senior center must engage staff, leadership, seniors, and community partners in a dialogue which includes a comprehensive evaluation of the senior center in 9 standard areas. The standards are developed by National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC), a unit of NCOA (National Council on Aging) and are used to determine that the Senior Center is meeting its mission in a nationally accepted professional fashion. The starting point is "Self Assessment" and any Center of any size will benefit greatly from this process. For more information on how to get started feel free to contact Marilyn Daily at Salem’s Center 50+ (503-588-6303).
