Individuals may participate in ORPA in one of two ways. We encourage you to choose the option that best meets your needs and interests.

Non-Member Affiliate:  Individuals can register as a Non-Member Affiliate of ORPA's website to receive general email communication and announcements from ORPA and to maintain an affiliate contact profile in ORPA's registration system. To register with ORPA in the Non-Member Affiliate category, check that button below.  Note that Non-Member Affiliates are not members of the Oregon Recreation and Park Association and receive no additional benefits beyond those listed above.

ORPA Members:  Individuals, park and recreation agencies, commercial businesses, and nonprofit organizations can join ORPA as members. By affiliating with ORPA as members, individuals, agencies, companies, and nonprofit organizations:

  • Show their commitment to parks and recreation in Oregon;
  • Provide important support and input to OPRA;
  • Receive relevant and affordable training and education;
  • Have a "watchdog" and voice in Salem and Washington DC about issues and legislation that affect parks and recreation; and Connect easily and directly to professionals and colleagues in Oregon.

ORPA members also receive a variety of valuable member benefits, including peer-to-peer networking, affiliation with our special interest sections, member-to-member information-sharing, discounts on ORPA workshops and events, and more.

ORPA has a variety of membership categories to suit the range of interests in parks and recreation in Oregon.  Dues vary by category. Joining is as easy as completing our downloadable form and returning it with your method of payment.  You can select the select the membership category that meets your needs from the list below. Agency Membership For city, county, state, and district park and recreation agencies and providers. Agency base membership is $500 and includes member benefits for up to two staff and citizen board members or advisors. Agencies may add ORPA membership for as many additional agency staff as desired.  Agencies who wish to include more than 50 staff in ORPA membership may do so for a simple flat rate of $4,500 per year.  Click here to download the Agency membership form.
Commercial Membership

For commercial partners who want to affiliate with ORPA and show their support of parks and recreation in Oregon. Annual membership is $350, and direct member benefits extend to two company representatives. Click here to download the Commercial Membership form.

Individual Membership

For a) active parks and recreation professionals that are not affiliated with an agency or commercial business or b) those who are employed by an agency/commercial/organization member but are not included under that group's membership.  Annual membership is $175 per individual. Click here to download the Individual Membership form.

Organizational Membership

For partner nonprofit organizations and educational institutions. Annual membership is $250, and direct member benefits extend to two organization representatives. Click here to download the Organizational membership form.

Retired/Transitioning Membership

For retirees from the park and recreation profession and those who are in-between jobs. annual membership is $45 per retired/transitioning individual. Click here to download the Retired/Transitioning membership form

Student Membership

For undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in an Oregon university, college, or technical school. Annual membership is $45 per student. Proof of enrollment is required. Click here to download the Student membership form.

Parks & Recreation Citizen Board Member/ Advisor Membership
For the private citizen who is appointed or elected to a municipal, county, state, or district park and recreation advisory committee, commission, or board of directors and who is not included in an agency membership.
